Recap: 2018 Awards Night
It was a record-breaking year for the 5th anniversary Event Photography Awards, not only in terms of the number of entries (both professional and amateur), but also in global reach and calibre of photos.
We received an astonishing 1,000 photographs from over 100 photographers entered into 12 categories, with photographer Andrew Whitton taking the award for Event Photographer of the Year, whilst also winning the Cultural and Venue categories!

One of the standout moments of the night came when U2's The Edge unexpectedly appeared on screen to accept the awards for Music Events, only to have it nabbed by photographer Danny North citing, "This is mine not yours, you have enough of these!"
Danny was unable to attend the awards night as he was on tour with U2 as their photographer.
The awards night ceremony was held in the BP Lecture Theatre of the world famous British Museum, where nearly 300 guests (including photographers, judges and event industry professionals) enjoyed the 80 shortlisted photos on display and indulged on delicious canapes and drinks provided by Bubble Food and Cawston Press.

Judges included Simon Hughes (The Analyst), the editor of The Cricketer, and our sponsors (including Perton Signs, Splento, The HAC) awarded the winning photographers of each category throughout the evening.
