so what's new in EPA 2026?
This year we're excited to formally include the new Speakers category, which recognises that up to 50% of images taken by photographers at events such as conferences, conventions and trade shows, are of speakers on stage or at a podium.
Importantly, while the Overall Winner of the competition will still be the photographer who captures what is judged to be the best single image, the winner of the much-prized Portfolio Award will from now on also be crowned Event Photographer of the Year. Moreover, as with the Overall Winner, the award comes with a prize of £1,000. To be eligible for this accolade entrants must submit at least two sets of images – ie 10 in total.
Also, after three wonderful years at 66 Portland Place – The Home of RIBA, which has closed for a major renovation, the awards event will also be held at a new venue – TBC!
